Key Principals

Kim Putnam received his Bachelor of
Science degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point
and served thereafter as an infantry officer with Ranger and Special
Forces units. He received his law degree from the University of
Puget Sound. He has served as legislative counsel for the
Washington
State Association for Justice. He has also served on WSAJ's board of directors and as the former head of the workers'
compensation and insurance law sections of WSAJ. He is a past
member of the judicial Recommendations Committee of the Washington
State Bar Association. Kim is the past chair of the South Sound
YMCA board of trustees and the current chair of the Strong Kids
Campaign.

Wayne Lieb
served as both an administrative law judge and chief review judge
for the Board of Industrial Insurance Appeals adjudicating workers'
compensation appeals. He has served on the WSAJ board of governors
and as chair of the Workers' Compensation section of WSAJ. He has
been appointed
a special master in Federal Court matters. He has
extensive experience in trial and appellate work and has 20
published appellate decisions. He received his Bachelor of Arts
from Western Washington University and his law degree from the
University of Washington. As past board member and president of
Behavioral Health Resources (BHR), Wayne has spent many hours
helping improve assistance to adults and children suffering from
mental health crises and addiction.

Kathryn Potvin

Kathryn Potvin, an Olympia native, attended California Lutheran
University where she graduated with honors. She obtained her law
degree from Arizona State University College of Law after having
completed a semester-long externship with Judge Philip J. Pro, chief
justice of the United States District Court for the District of
Nevada. Kathryn then practiced law in Las Vegas, Nevada, in the
areas of personal injury and workers' compensation from 1999 until
2007. Her efforts resulted in two Nevada Supreme Court decisions
which changed the law for injured workers in the State of Nevada.
She joined the Washington Bar Association in 2003 and is a current
member of the Thurston County and Pierce County Bar Associations as
well as an active committee member for the Washington State
Association for Justice.
Of Counsel

After service in the Army as a regular Army officer Michael
graduated from the University of Puget Sound School of Law in 1980.
He has held a number of senior legislative staff positions in
Washington State Government including Attorney to the Speaker of the
House and Counsel to the Senate Majority Leader. Michael then worked
as head of Government Affairs and was Political Director for the
WSTLA from 1986-1990. He then served as Counsel to the State
Treasurer and then as a state director for a U.S. Senator after
which he started his own business as a contract lobbyist. His
clients include the WSTLA where he is intimately involved in the
formulation of state political strategies, including lobbying on
workers' compensation and insurance issues. Other clients have
included the Bicycle Association of Washington, King County. His
services to these and other clients have included a broad range of
lobbying strategies, as well as interaction with State executive
agencies, the State Legislature and various local government
entities.
